A Real Slow Burner

1 July 2026

We’ve undertaken some very early exploration of a new project we’re looking to present in 2027/2028, and now have a lovely long list of research tasks and trips between us as we let our thinking develop at a slow pace over the coming year.

We’ll be coming through a battered old copy of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House, and there’ll be much poking around in my treasured vintage copy of Reader’s Digest’s Mysteries of the Unexplained — we’re unapologetically using this project to indulge and exorcise some more of our childhood supernatural obsessions.

We’ll be speaking to Professors and postdoctoral researchers at the University of Birmingham in the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, and we’ll also be attempting to meet and interview some icons of the paranormal investigation world, which is likely to be easier said than done — but persistence usually pays off, right?
